'The Rotunda of St Marija Assunta', Mosta.
Hmmph! The last day, . . . . . again. As long as I see a few more last days I suppose it's ok.
I had purposely arranged a latish flight home, 19:10, to give us a bit of extra time rather than rush at the crack of dawn. This sort of worked.

The Pergolas under the Bridge.
We had a good breakfast again in the hotel retuarant and went for a look around the garden, which we hadn:t really done until now. Should have done earlier as the Pergolas in the hotel garden under the Adenau Street Bridge would have been a lovely spot to spend an evening with a bottle of wine or two or three or ?
They really are quite nice gardens and look like they are being extended down the little valley. Nice !

The Rotunda of St Marija Assunta, Mosta.
And so it was we checked out of the hotel and properly attired headed for The Rotunda of St Marija Assunta, Mosta, determined to gain entry to the interior.
It really is worth the effort to visit. The interior of the dome and the story of the failed bomb attack during WW II must place The building and the congregation at the time, amongst the luckiest ever.
Below are just a few of the pictures my photographer took of the interior.

That was that really ! Except we did go and look around the centre of Rabat where we bought some lunch as well as some excellent Fruit cake from the cake shop in the square. Then we went for a drive all round the southern end of the island. Past the Airport at Luqa and on to Birzebugga, Marsaxlokk and St. Georges Bay.
Finally it was off back to the Airport and another good couple of hours there. The flight was a bit late if I remember right but otherwise uneventful, which I suppose is what you want from a flight? The trip back from Luton was ok too though it was very noticebly flippin cold.
Well, that was it . . . . . until the next time I suppose.
