The Parish Register Transcription Society was formed in April 1999, with the aim of publishing transcripts of Parish Registers and / or other manuscripts / records of use to researchers in family history.

The Society consists of a very small group of volunteer transcribers who donate their work for publication. As a non-profit making organisation, all proceeds from the sale of published material is used to fund further transcription and publication projects.

How come I got involved with this one? ..... The committee decided that an internet presence would be an easy and effective way to publicise their activities. As I had a limited knowledge along with the fact that I just happened to be married to The Treasurer's Daughter, I was 'press ganged' and elected as 'Web Site Co-ordinator'. ( strange title? )

What? ..... After several versions, developing with my development, including a DragonflyCMS based site, it is now almost entirely my own design which I now administer on behalf of the Society.
